Tactiv WP09 bolt-action pen is a premium writing device that is fully waterproof so you are prepared to write in any condition. The pressurized Rite-In-The-Rain® ink allows you to write in any direction and in extreme temperatures from -30°f to 250°f.
Plus, it's fully waterproof when used with Rite-In-The-Rain notepads. The bolt-action design is inspired by the M16A4 series rife. Simply push, turn, and release the clip to trigger the pen point. Machined with robust aircraft-grade aluminum, a stainless steel pocket clip, and a copper ink cartridge.

INSPIRATIONS FROM THE ROOT
The design objective was simple: to design an Everday Carry pen that will look and function uniquely to stand out among all the pens on the market. So we analysis all the pens on the market and found the most successful ones are very rugged and manly. So we took inspiration from firearms (which was the root of the "Everyday Carry" market) and design the aesthetic base on descriptive words like modern, power, tech, and high functionality.

It can also be fully dissembled for cleaning and repairing, just like the inspired firearm.

STRONG FIRST IMPRESSION
We went into detail to make the Tactiv WP09 feel powerful, so we wanted to do the same for its packaging design. The open box experience also has a sliding mechanism to represent the pen in the most premium way. In addition, the see-thru cut-outs on the side of the packaging mimicked the aesthetics of the pen by showing the interior tray for the color contrast.
The premium treatment, like spot gloss and emboss, isn't just for aesthetics; it also represents important information in addition to the text on the packaging. The embossing design mimicked the actual bumps and pattern of the Tactiv WP09's metal finish surface, so the customers can feel the pen's detailed design without opening the packaging. As a result, the Tactiv WP09 Pen will stand out among all the pen packaging, not only as informative but also as a uniquely open box experience.
